The product comes in four variations: Roxul Safe, Roxul Safe 65, Roxul Safe 55 and Roxul Safe 45.

Roxul says Roxul Safe is “ideal for filling perimeter gaps between concrete floor slabs and exterior wall systems; around conduit pipe and duct openings through walls and floor slabs; and between fire walls and ceiling slabs”. It’s used in conjunction with a fire sealant.

Roxul Safe 65 holds a fire resistance rating of one hour, from the interior side, as specified in ULC Design No. W605 and UL Design No. U654, the company states.

The 55 version holds a fire resistance rating of two hours and Roxul Safe 55 and 65 “provide added fire protection for metal buildings in close proximity to other buildings and is designed for interior or exterior non-load bearing metal panel wall assemblies where a fire resistance rating is required.”

Lastly, Roxul Safe 45 (commercial insulated sheathing) is a semi-rigid, non-combustible, stone wool insulation board designed for use as an exterior continuous insulation in commercial applications.
