Schneider Solar offers new edge devices for Insight energy management ecosystem

April 6, 2021 – Schneider Electric Solar has expanded its Insight Energy Management ecosystem with InsightHome and InsightFacility—smart edge devices that connect customers’ Schneider Electric solar and energy storage systems to the Insight app.

Insight helps owners see their energy production and consumption from mobile or web apps, and control their solar and storage systems. Installers, meantime, can use Insight to manage their portfolio of installations; this can reduce site visits by 50%, says Schneider, thanks to Insight’s remote management features.

InsightHome is suitable for a single-family home with up to 26 kW of storage. InsightFacility supports larger solar systems up to 3 MW, or storage systems up to 50 kW. Portfolio management tools, customizable dashboards and remote control simplify the management of single or multiple commercial sites.

Both InsightHome and InsightFacility are compatible with Schneider Electric’s hybrid solar and storage offerings, including the XW and SW lines of storage inverters, MPPT solar charge controllers and accessories.
