RETScreen Expert software helps determine whether a proposed renewable energy project makes sense (feasibility) and whether an existing project is operating according to expectations (performance analysis). This webinar will demonstrate these capabilities for on-grid solar and wind projects.

• RETScreen Expert can rapidly provide a global picture of the key elements of project feasibility (energy production, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, profitability). As will be shown using the case of a hypothetical wind farm, this is useful not just to quickly understand and communicate the principal characteristics of a proposed project, but to reveal the impacts of changes in key inputs.

• RETScreen Expert’s built in “Virtual energy analyzer” provides templates for the feasibility analysis of many different technologies. With minimal input, the user can select a reasonable starting point for their analysis, allowing them to focus on those inputs and outputs of most interest to them. This will be applied to an on-grid solar project.

• Variation in solar radiation levels complicates interpretation of monitored data from operating on-grid photovoltaic projects, making it difficult to detect problems and assess performance deterioration. This webinar will show how RETScreen’s performance analysis removes variability caused by changing solar radiation levels, revealing the true performance of the underlying system.

  • Date & Time: February 28th, 2024 @ 3:00pm – 4:30pm EST.
  • Speaker: Michael Ross
