LG’s new A/C system ready for winter in Canada
November 16, 2018 – LG Electronics Canada has expanded its Multi V variable refrigerant flow (VRF) line of heat recovery and pump systems with a new model, dubbed the V 5.
The outdoor air-conditioning (A/C) unit is available in sizes from 6 to 42 tons (including single-frame 16-, 18- and 20-ton units that are new to the Multi V lineup), with a choice of three-phase 208 or 230-V, 460-V or 575-V electrical power. A new biomimetic fan design—inspired by the flippers of the humpback whale—increases airflow and efficiency.
The V 5’s heat operating range reportedly reaches as low as -30 C, to withstand Canadian winters. By sensing latent heat, Advanced Smart Load Control addresses the impact of pending weather changes, to ensure comfort for building occupants. Additionally, Intelligent Heating defrosts the unit as needed, rather than responding to preset frost conditions.
