LV capacitor banks rebranded and reconfigured

December 4, 2018 – Schneider Electric is rebranding its ReactiVar range of low-voltage (LV) capacitor banks as VarSet and transitioning them from a custom engineered-to-order (ETO) model to a fully configured-to-order (CTO) offering, with standard part numbers, pricing and lead times.

“In working with our customers, we identified the need for shorter lead times and products that would be easier to specify and order,” says Shoumi Sen, offer manager for Schneider’s power solutions. “With the new CTO offer, we make power quality improvement easy for people to implement.”

The company claims the products, which use the Modbus communication protocol to integrate with building management and energy monitoring systems, can reduce capital expenses by up to 30%, lower reactive energy billing penalties by up to 10% and improve power system and equipment reliability by up to 18%.
