Changes proposed to energy standard 90.1-2010 regarding data centres

July 10, 2012 - According to ASHRAE, a proposed change to the 2010 ASHRAE/IES energy standard regarding data centres recognizes the role that system efficiencies – vs. only equipment – can play in reducing energy consumption. With publication of the 2010 standard, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, data centres were included within its scope for the first time. In total, 15 proposed addenda/addendum to Standard 90.1 have been open for public review: al, ao, ap, af, ag, ai, am, an, aq, ar, at, ad, ah, aj and as.
